The years offerings are still to be determined. But examples from the past include a Malbec and Maipe Bonarda from Argentina nicely paired with sweet corn empanadas, flank steak with Chimmy Churry Sauce among other "south of the border" foods.
From the Australian outback we have a Shotfire Quartage and Terra Barossa Shiraz served up with grilled lamb on rosemary kabobs and potato cakes...yummy!
France will be there...what is a wine tasting without our most favorite wines...Cousserques Chardonnay, Caberent Franc and Merlot paired with asparagus wrapped in Jambon with truffle oil! And the duck breast with melted Brie will be a delight.
Viva Italia!...brings us Vitanza 2006 Brunello, Otella Le Creete 2009 and Codirosso Chianti, 2009, I might add..served with warm pasta in a red cream sauce with antipasto and scrumptous italian cheeses.
Siegel Wines from Chile (they were absent last year due to the earthquake) so nice to have them with us...bringing Crucero Sauvignon Blanc and Carmener 2009 along with a Crucero Reserve Caberent 2007.
Guests...please remember the wines are being presented in large part BY THE VINTNERS THEMSELVES. They have come a long way to tell us about their wines. Feel free to visit with them!
Shall I continue?...
From South Africa...Pieter Cruythoff Chenin Blanc, a Riebeek Pinotage and Mullineaux Syrah 2008 paired with bobotie meat pie (you ...will have to come and find out about that one yourself), and Sasaties.
Some of the finest wines are domestic and we will be featuring wines from California, Washington State and Dukenie of Virginia paired with wild mushrooms and cheddar sliders, garlic shrimp and smoked trout mousse.
In all, there are over 25 wines to be sampled and CAN BE PURCHASED NIGHT OF THE EVENT. Some quantities are limited so don't delay. All proceeds from ticket sales, raffle sales and wine sales are to benefit Our Health, Inc, supporting partner agencies to improve the health and well-being of our community by enhancing capcaity, fostering collaboration, and improving outcomes.
